Crusher

The KLEIN Crusher
performs many functions of a cold resin sand reclamation plant, such as:

  • Lump breaking

  • Metal and foreign object removal

  • Sand screening to usage fraction

  • Overgrain ejection or recirculation into the crushing chamber

  • Vertical transport of sand for transfer to subsequent units

  • Emptying of mold boxes with mounted unpacking grates

Significant Advantages

  • Intensive but gentle scrubbing friction ensures excellent sand quality

  • Compact, space-saving design

  • Low pit depth through vertical transport of sand via the outer helix

  • Low investment costs

  • Energy-efficient operation

  • No moving parts in the crushing chamber

  • Maintenance-friendly with easy access to all components

Operation

The crusher is typically fed via a pre-installed feed chute or a separate riddle grid. For smaller to medium-sized mold boxes, an unboxing grid can be mounted. Two stiffly coupled vibration motors move the helical crusher in a three-dimensional screw motion. This movement ensures intensive scrubbing friction within the sand-clod mixture, which allows for quick but gentle disintegration of clods to preserve sand grain integrity. Through a bottom grid, the sand passes from the crushing chamber to the external transport helix. A fine sieve integrated into this helix separates sand and oversized material. A discharge chute transfers the sand to the next processing unit. Oversized material can either be discharged into a waste container or returned to the crushing chamber for further processing. Larger metal and foreign objects remain in the crushing chamber and are automatically discharged through a manually opened flap at preset intervals.

Design

  • Statically optimized and stress-relieved welded construction with or without mounted unboxing grid

  • Vibration-isolated placement using screw compression springs on a compact base frame

  • Wear-resistant bottom grids made of hard steel

  • Replaceable side wear plates and flow deflectors

  • Closed, permanently mounted external helix with easy access to fine sieve section

  • Manual adjustment flap for discharging oversized material into a waste container or returning it to the crushing chamber

  • Spacious hand flap for removing metal or foreign objects

  • Robust, easily accessible imbalance motors
