Core Sand Preparation
The stringent quality requirements for foundry cores today demand specialized measures for preparing core sand tailored to various core manufacturing processes such as Cold-Box, Hot-Box, Warm-Box, Inorganic, and more.
We design and deliver complete systems for core sand preparation, customized to your specific needs. At the heart of these systems is the core sand mixer, supported by sand supply systems including temperature control and dust extraction, binder supply systems, the addition and dosing of powdered additives, core sand distribution, and storage and processing of coatings.
All processes are managed and visualized through a state-of-the-art control system designed by us. Operational data and process parameters can be recorded, stored, and integrated into a higher-level control system for seamless communication and enhanced process control.
Modern core manufacturing demands mixers with maximum mixing intensity, high performance, low binder consumption, and minimal cleaning and maintenance requirements.

Efficient, reliable, and precise solutions to meet the demands of modern core production.
The sand temperer is used in batch operation, typically integrated into a system above a mixer or centrally positioned to serve multiple mixing stations. In the sand temperer, air is introduced from below to fluidize the sand, giving it liquid-like properties. This fluidized state allows the sand to be conditioned through built-in cooling or heating surfaces based on requirements.
Additionally, the fluidization process enables simultaneous screening, effectively removing unwanted dust particles from the sand. Precise dosing systems ensure that the exact required amount of sand is delivered to the downstream core sand mixer, optimizing the mixing process.
The KLEIN BDG Bellows Dosing Devices are specifically designed for dosing chemical binders for foundry sands. Their construction is both simple and robust, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.
To supply multiple core shooting machines with core sand from a single core sand mixer, various distribution systems are used:
· Rail-mounted distribution carts
· Monorail systems
· Linear drive distribution carts
The selection of the system depends on the specific requirements and the local conditions at the customer’s site.
